A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am a happy 18 year old man living with my family in Barry. I have a diagnosis of Kabuki syndrome and developmental delay. I have no speech but I communicate on a computer device in sentences and can be very chatty. I also use makaton. I use a wheelchair or walker. I attend a school in Penarth. I am a sociable young man and enjoy being with other children and mix well with my peers. I enjoy listening to music and most social activities.
HOURS OF WORK
3 hours per week, worked flexibly with mutual agreement.
RATE OF PAY
£16.00 per Hour
40p mileage allowance
TASKS CAN INCLUDE
- To take me to the local park, soft play, shopping
- Ensuring I am safe at all times
- Supporting me when out in my local community
- Using your car to take me places of my choice
- Encourage my Independence, living and social skills
- Ensuring my safety at all times
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
- Reliable, trustworthy and patient
- Caring, friendly and fun to be with
- Someone who is sensible, mature and responsible
- Ability to use own initiative and think of activities for us to do
- Driver with access to their own vehicle and have business insurance
ABOUT THE JOB
This position is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS Disclosure (Police Check), which must be completed prior to the commencement of employment. The cost of this check will be covered by the Local Authority.
All necessary checks will be conducted to verify that any candidate has the legal right to work in the UK before employment begins.
Although this is a part-time role, it is a legitimate position requiring the submission of a National Insurance number. Employment will commence under an initial trial period.
Wages will be paid on a four-weekly basis and appropriate holiday pay will be provided.
