Overview

This represents a fantastic opportunity to work in a thriving Prep School with enthusiastic and talented young performers in a maternity cover role.

There will be the chance to direct and rehearse for the performance of a senior Musical with the top two year groups (12-13 year olds) in the Spring term 2027 and to direct and rehearse junior productions in the Autumn term of 2026.

Weekly lessons with each year group in the Prep School (Forms 1-5) and with the top year group in our Pre-Prep (Form 6) create ample opportunity for the development of drama skills and confidence in performance and also provide built-in rehearsal time ahead of productions.

This is a wonderful opportunity, either for an experienced teacher looking to work in the increasingly rare Prep School boarding environment, or for a recent graduate looking to build an impressive CV. Key Responsibilities
Teach classroom Drama lessons to Forms 1-6 .
Run ‘Performing Arts Fridays’ on a fortnightly basis, giving every child in the Prep 
School the opportunity to develop aspects of their Performing Arts skillset .
Select, direct and rehearse Senior and Junior productions throughout the year .
Liaise with the Senior Leadership team to ensure that rehearsals are scheduled at 
appropriate times in the lead-up to a performance .
Work with the School’s active PTFA to provide costume/set design support 
Other responsibilities.

If eligible, to offer teaching in another subject at Primary or early Secondary level .
To be involved in the co-curricular programme of the School, offering sport and a 
variety of activities.

To show a willingness to contribute to the life of a busy and thriving boarding Prep Schoo.
