Job Description

Job Title: People Experience Officer Contract Type: Permanent Salary: £43,329 (£47,990 is achieved after 12 months successful performance in the role) Working Hours: 35 hours per week, full time Working Pattern: Monday to Friday Location: Liverpool, Speke

Reporting into the Head of People Experience, the Officer is an expert in a number of disciplines that include colleague engagement and experience, appreciation, voice, wellbeing and/or Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI).  The role would deliver against the people experience and engagement, and/or \wellbeing and EDI Objectives for the Group.  Responsible for proactively designing, developing and implementing modern and innovative solutions, initiatives and frameworks to improve colleague experience and / or helping to ensure our workforce is reflective of the communities we serve.  
 

About you 
We are looking for someone with 
•  Deep technical expert on either colleague experience and engagement and or EDI with proven track record in proactively and independently designing solutions and delivering initiatives that work, in area of expertise, in large, complex organisations.
•  A passion for and proven experience of driving employee engagement and behavioural and cultural change.
•  Knowledge of the Equality Act and proven track record of implementing diversity and equality best practice initiatives.  Understanding and addressing barriers to equality, diversity and successfully advising and addressing related issues, whilst keeping organisation safe and legally compliant.Why Riverside?

•  The role has defined accountability for either EDI & Wellbeing or Colleague Engagement and Experience as an area of expertise but would be expected to learn and support the overall function on all initiatives so that over time can support and advise on all aspects of people experience and EDI.
•  To ensure a positive and consistent experience for our people.  Role modelling Our Riverside Way, ensuring our ways of working are embedded in all we do and proactively developing modern and engaging initiatives and solutions to move us closer to our aspired culture
•  Lead the delivery of the overall plan for Colleague Engagement and Experience and / or EDI & Wellbeing, ensuring that all initiatives are aligned to the People Strategy, are communicated regularly in an engaging way both inside and outside of our organisation.  Proactively researching and recommending proposals that will lead to improvements and adapting the plan as needed.
•  Develop, track and monitor measures of success for own area, supporting the Head of People Experience in reporting to Chief Officers and Governance & People Committee (GPC) on progress and performance.
•  Build a plan of accreditations and awards within own area to build employer brand and celebrate achievements.  Develop in conjunction with communications proposals and or applications that support us achieving the awards that are important.
•  Analyse people, EDI and engagement data to gain insight into issues, trends, best practice, and areas for improvement, presenting findings and recommendations and solutions to the Head of People Experience, then implementing, embedding and improving to ensure that initiatives are always fresh and up to date.    
•  Oversee and lead the development and maintenance of all collateral and intranet site relating to engagement, values, wellbeing, appreciation and EDI, ensuring alignment with the People Strategy and corporate branding style.
•  Build effective relationships with leaders and colleagues and been seen as the credible expert in field, to understand business requirements.  Consult, influence and shape solutions and plans.  •  People Experience & Engagement
o  Understand and improve colleague engagement and experience across all areas of the Group, ensuring a consistent experience, providing expert solutions, upskilling, support, and advice.
o  Build a culture of appreciation and celebration by leading on solutions and initiatives to embed recognition from a simple thank you to celebrating our role models.
o  Oversee and lead Colleague Voice groups, surveys and forums, providing insight, expertise, coaching and training to people partners, leaders and other colleagues to ensure all activity is carried out effectively and in a consistent and compliant manner. Ensuring we act on results locally and organisationally, communicating to colleagues what we are doing to improve experience.
o  Communicating in a range of effective, modern and innovative ways how we are improving experience and are an employer of choice both within and externally to Riverside, developing our employee value proposition and brand and delivering against our People Strategy.  Supporting and developing collateral and events for leadership, managers and colleagues.•  Colleague EDI and Wellbeing
o  Be the go-to person and own the overall EDI Colleague Objectives and Plan for Group, working in partnership with the colleague groups to embed equality and diversity throughout the colleague lifecycle ensuring alignment to the People Strategy and promoting a diverse and inclusive workforce that is reflective of the communities we serve. Work in partnership with Customer EDI Coordinator.
o  Lead colleague groups to co-ordinate regular events, positive action campaigns, training, workshops, and communications to raise awareness to key times in the EDI calendar or strategic initiatives.  Ensuring a plan is in place that is communicated well.
o  Own colleague wellbeing and working in partnership across People Services and our business to design, develop and implement the right plans, solutions and initiatives that improve health, wellbeing and address absence at a root cause level.
•  Ensure continuous improvement, collaborating with and seeking feedback from key stakeholders to identify and realise areas of improvement are delivered in accordance with change management protocols.
•  Work as one People Services team to ensure that the People Strategy and Plans – together with underpinning frameworks and policies - are embedded and adhered to within your team and across Riverside.
•  Maintain industry knowledge and expertise, keeping abreast of all developments and best practice in own area of expertise, identifying opportunities to contribute to and shape future decision making.
•  Represent Riverside and People Services across the sector on area of expertise, attending best practise groups, sharing and embedding within Riverside new ideas, influencing and seeking industry wide change. 
•  Arrange, facilitate and present at events, of various levels and sizes, meetings developing collateral, agendas presentations aligned to branding and to ensure that they are engaging and inspire our people.
•  Respond flexibly to any necessary changes in work priorities and undertake other duties when required to support the effective operation of the service. 
•  Ensure that all information security requirements, including data protection, are met in accordance with the Group’s policy, procedures and statutory requirements.

•  Experience of developing and implementing people/engagement surveys across a large, complex organisation and importantly driving initiatives that demonstrate acting on feedback and keeping fresh and alive.
•   Experience of managing and driving a plan to successfully achieve people related accreditations and associated assessment processes
•  Evidence of analysing people metrics, including engagement surveys, data and people MI, undertaking root cause analysis, researching and developing proposals for initiatives to address areas for improvement
•  Proven ability to think and develop long-term plans, shape people projects and deliver to agreed timelines with pace.
•  Comprehensive up to date knowledge of EDI, employment legislation and best practice in field.
•  Evidence of effective coaching and stakeholder management, both internally and externally to the organisation, including the ability to successfully persuade and influence others.
•  Effective facilitation skills and experience in designing and developing large scale events that inspire and influence others at different levels and sizes.  
•  Customer focused with excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop proposals and to work at all levels within the business.
•  Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure, deliver to strict deadlines and manage conflicting priorities
