People Coordinator – Maternity Cover

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, generally 9.00am to 5.00pm

Salary: £25,902.14 to £28,583.75 (subject to skills and experience)

Contract: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract – Maternity Cover

Location: Head Office, Centrum, Norwich Research Park. Working from other Big C premises or public events may be required from time to time.

As People Coordinator (Maternity Cover), you’ll play an important role in keeping our People services running smoothly, supporting colleagues and volunteers who make a real difference in our community.

Working as part of a small and friendly People Team, you’ll work across a broad range of HR activities in a hands-on and varied role.

This role is due to start early May, or sooner if available, to allow a handover period before the maternity leave begins.

About the role

This is a busy and rewarding position where no two days are quite the same. You’ll be a key point of contact for managers and employees, helping to ensure recruitment, payroll, training and employee processes are delivered efficiently and professionally.

The focus of this maternity cover is continuity — maintaining strong people practices, providing practical support and ensuring our established processes continue to run smoothly. You’ll work closely with the People Manager and People Administrator, with full handover and support provided.
