Smart Works is now hiring a People Coordinator to form part of an interim team structure during a period of maternity leave.

This is an exciting 12-month opportunity for someone who has previously worked in an office environment, has good administrative skills and would like to gain experience in both HR and recruitment within a non-profit organisation. Some experience in an HR or recruitment role would be an advantage but is not essential - we're looking for a compassionate and organised individual who shares Smart Works' mission for promoting fair hiring and employment practices and treating candidates and employees with dignity and respect.

You will be part of the small but mighty People and Culture team, who work with hiring managers and staff in the ten Smart Works centres across the UK. You will receive on-the-job training as well as plenty of opportunities to shadow key HR processes, get involved in project work, and have access to our e-learning platform for your professional development.

The successful person will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the People Team. They will provide high-quality administrative support across the employee lifecycle, coordinate recruitment activities, maintain People systems and records, and help deliver an excellent experience for candidates, employees and line managers at Smart Works. As one of the first points of contact for the People Team, they will provide friendly and efficient support, resolving routine queries and ensuring that administrative processes are delivered accurately and on time. The role will also contribute to continuous improvement projects and help ensure the People Team can focus on strategic business partnering by providing excellent operational coordination.
