We are looking for a People Business Partner who can work closely with the Head of People, People Team, Heads of Service and other leaders to strengthen our organisational structure, support effective people planning, and improve the experience of colleagues and candidates.
This role has a strong focus on organisational design, role development, workforce shaping and supporting organisational change. You will also oversee the candidate journey, ensuring that applicants and hiring managers receive a supportive, consistent and inclusive experience.
You will act as a trusted partner to managers, helping to improve people processes, drive clarity of roles and structures, and ensure colleagues feel supported throughout organisational changes.

Salary: £42,000
Reports to: Head of People
Location: Home based or hybrid depending on candidate location, with travel to Kids settings approx. once per week
Hours: 36 hours per week

Key Responsibilities
Organisational Design & Change Support
- Lead and advise on organisational design and redesign, including role evolution, structural changes, and transitioning towards more sustainable and clearly defined workforce models.
- Support leaders to clarify role purpose, responsibilities, team structures and workforce needs.
- Advise on organisational change processes such as restructuring, role redesign and TUPE
- Ensure changes are communicated clearly, implemented consistently, and provide a positive and supportive colleague experience.
Business Partnering
- Partner with Heads of Service and managers to understand workforce requirements, identify improvements to structures, and support effective people decision‑making.
- Work closely with the Head of People to anticipate people‑related needs and deliver effective solutions across services.
- Offer ER casework support as needed, helping managers navigate people matters confidently
- Build strong, credible relationships across the organisation and act as a visible, trusted point of contact.
Recruitment, Talent and Candidate Experience
- Oversee the candidate journey—ensuring applicants receive a high‑quality, accessible and supportive experience.
- Support managers with workforce planning conversations to identify current and future resourcing needs.
- Advise on inclusive attraction and assessment methods, working with hiring managers to ensure fair, consistent practices.
Employment Law, Policy & Risk
- Act as the charity’s subject‑matter expert in employment law, ensuring the organisation is prepared for legislative changes (including implementation requirements from the Employment Rights Bill).
- Help identify and mitigate people‑related risks.
Culture & Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to culture, inclusion and wellbeing initiatives across the organisation.
- Support the development and implementation of people policies, guidance and toolkits.
- Lead or contribute to people‑focused projects such as manager capability development, organisational process enhancements or EDI improvements.
Person Specification
Essential
- Significant HR experience, including responsibilities ideally including HR business partnering or organisational change.
- Experience supporting organisational design, role reviews or structural changes, including restructuring, role redesign or TUPE.
- Strong recruitment knowledge.
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and ability to apply it confidently in context.
- Ability to build trusted and influential relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Experience supporting managers with people issues, coaching them to improve capability.
- Excellent communication, facilitation and problem‑solving skills.
- Highly organised, able to manage competing priorities and work independently.
- CIPD Level 7 (or working towards).
Desirable
- Previous HRBP experience in a charity, education, health or safeguarding environment.
- Understanding of safer recruitment and safeguarding in a charity setting.
