People and Culture Manager
Full time, 35 hours per week
USSS Points 45-50, Salary Range £42,254 - £48,822 (Depending on skills and experience)
Girton College is seeking a People & Culture Manager to join our People & Culture team at an exciting time of development and change.
This is a key role within the College, working closely with Heads of Department and senior colleagues to support the delivery of a high-quality, modern People & Culture service.
You will act as a trusted partner to managers across a diverse and complex organisation, leading on complex employee relations matters, supporting workforce planning, and contributing to the delivery of the College’s People & Culture Strategy. The role combines strong operational expertise with a proactive, solutions-focused approach, using data and insight to support effective decision-making.

About you
We are looking for a confident and capable People & Culture professional who:
- Has experience operating in a generalist HR or People & Culture role within a medium-sized organisation
- Is confident managing complex employee relations cases and advising managers at all levels
- Takes a proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem solving
- Has experience of coaching and supporting managers to build capability
- Is comfortable using HR systems and data to inform decisions
- Can build effective working relationships and influence a range of stakeholders
- Is well organised, adaptable and able to manage competing priorities
A CIPD qualification (Level 5 or above) or equivalent experience is essential.
