Yorkshire Wildlife Trust is one of the UK’s fastest growing nature conservation organisations and seeks to appoint a Peat Project Officer.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Peat programme and play a role in delivering several large projects. As a member of our busy, dynamic Restoration Team, you’ll lead on surveying damaged peatlands, preparing restoration plans and maps, contractor management, monitoring restoration, and liaising with stakeholders.

We’d love to hear from you if you have experience of working in land management, ecological field surveys and practical use of GIS. You will enjoy a mix of being outdoors in all weathers and desk-based work such as mapping and report writing. You’ll be proficient in IT and should have the ability to communicate with enthusiasm, tact and diplomacy, both in writing and verbally. We have a variety of projects and workstreams underway at once so organisation, a common-sense approach to problem solving and the ability to respond to changing circumstances at short notice are essential for success in this role.

A full driving licence will be essential for travelling to remote locations.

How to apply:

Please submit an up-to-date CV and supporting statement. When writing your supporting statement, please ensure you describe your relevant knowledge, skills and experience aligned to the Person Specification within the Job Description. Please be aware that if you only submit a CV, your application may not be considered.

Please DO NOT include any personal details (name, address etc) on your supporting statement.

Closing date: Tuesday 28 th April at midnight

Interview dates: Monday 18 th May and Tuesday 19th May

Please note that applications received after the closing deadline may not be considered. The Trust regrets that it is unable to give feedback on unsuccessful applications.
