Pennine Domestic Abuse Partnership PDAP Trustee Board The Board can have up to 12 trustees at any one time, drawn from the public, private and not-for profit sectors who bring a range of expertise to support the charity in meeting its objectives. The board meets every quarter at the head office in Huddersfield. Trustees service a three-year term which may be renewed twice. They are unpaid volunteers but are reimbursed for reasonable travel expenses and childcare or similar costs incurred as a result of attending meetings. Trustees will usually be recruited from amongst existing members who have become familiar with the work of PDAP and its board. Occasionally an applicant with much-needed skills may be directly recruited to the board. All new trustees will be given an induction and training is offered throughout the term of participation on the board. Personal requirements of PDAP trustees We are looking for people who are self-motivated and can work effectively as part of a strategic team. key attributes include: • A commitment to the promotion of diversity and equality, and the advocacy of equal rights. • An understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of being a trustee. • information and speak out. • Respect for the views of others and the importance of listening, discussion and reflection about difficult issues. Governance of PDAP Board Governance is how we ensure the Board functions in the best possible way for the good of PDAP. This includes offering an induction programme for all new trustees, accessible training for members, reviews of the effectiveness of board meetings, an annual check of 1 the skills of the trustees to identify the gaps and making sure we meet all the regulatory and other requirements of being a charity.
