Payroll and Accounts Officer – Year-round position

Overview of Role

Harrogate Ladies’ College is seeking to appoint a Payroll and Accounts Officer to join our busy Bursary Team. Reporting to the Bursary Manager, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely payment of staff salaries, while also supporting colleagues with the Purchase Ledger and other accounting duties. This is a key role that contributes to the smooth and effective running of the College.

If you have a passion for payroll, tax codes, pension contributions, and enjoy working with well-balanced spreadsheets, we would be delighted to hear from you.

The ideal candidate will have experience working within a busy finance or payroll team and be able to demonstrate strong technical skills and attention to detail. A qualification in Finance, preferably AAT, is desirable. As you will often be the first point of contact for new staff, excellent communication skills are essential. The role is based in a busy office at the heart of the school.

This is a full-time, year-round position, working 35 hours per week. The salary range is £27,000–£30,000 per annum, depending on experience.

For further details, please refer to the job description and person specification. For an informal discussion about the role, please contact our HR Manager, Liz Pugh, on 01423 504543.

Please note that suitable candidates may be interviewed before the closing date, and we reserve the right to close the vacancy early if an appointment is made. Early applications are therefore encouraged.
