Partnership Manager

The Partnership Manager plays a key role in increasing the support of partners to World Animal Protection by developing and delivering the China Partnership Strategy, building relationships and exploring new opportunities from diverse sources. The Partnership manager also works to increase the awareness of World Animal Protection’s work, aims, and mission across key potential stakeholders and supporters. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy that aligns with the organisation’s global mission and income targets, ensuring sustainable long‑term growth.
  • Be authentic and genuine, actively seeking connections and nurturing relationships.
  • Identify, cultivate, and steward high‑value partners who have the resources and willingness to support World Animal Protection’s work.
  • Create compelling fundraising proposals, pitches, and reports, ensuring they are tailored, evidence‑based, and aligned to partner interests and organisational priorities.
  • Develop and manage a consistent, high-quality partner communications and retention program, ensuring high‑quality, timely, and personalised communications that strengthen partner engagement and retention.
  • Keeping in touch with existing partners and stakeholders.
  • Develop partner insights, through data analysis and research, to provide strategic input into China’s partnership strategy and planning, particularly for retention of major partners.
  • Manage the delivery of the partner acquisition programme to deliver against objectives and China budget for the set period;
  • Strategically develop the plans and budgets for an acquisition programme capable of growing the partner base and future net contribution;
  • Planning, organizing and executing events to promote partnerships and cooperations.
  • Represent the organisation at external meetings, events, and networking forums, strengthening visibility and building strategic partnerships.
  • Manage and mitigate evaluated risks under the guidance of the Country Director.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Key Skills and Expereince

  • Networking skills and access to numerous high value connections
  • Strong demonstrated experience in a similar role, ideally in a multi-national organisation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in Chinese and English
  • A motivated self-starter with ability to proactively build and maintain relationships in professional settings
  • Ability to follow directions and can solve problems independently
  • Organizational skills and attention to details
  • Comfort with technology, including stakeholder/donor management systems
  • Honest and a high level of professional integrity
  • Bachelor’s degree or above from a credible university

Desirable

  • Overseas study or working experience
  • Knowledge of nonprofits and regulations surrounding donations
