Job Title: Part-Time Personal Assistant

A Little Bit About Me

 

I am a 22-year-old man living in the Llantwit Major area with my mum and our dog. I have a learning disability and require support when out in the community. I have a great sense of humour and a lovely personality.

I attended Ysgol-Y-Deri where I was Head Boy, and later studied carpentry at college. I currently volunteer at the BRC a couple of days per week, which is very important to me.

My interests include Transformers, Army figures, Doctor Who, art, technology, and creating and posting videos on YouTube.

Purpose of the job

I am looking to employ a Personal Assistant to support me in accessing the local community, exploring new activities and social groups, building my confidence, and learning new routes.

 

Hours of Work

  • 4 hours per week
  • Days and times are flexible

 

Rate of Pay

  • £14.10 per hour

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accompanying me when out and about in the community
  • Driving me to activities I enjoy
  • Supporting me to safely access community activities
  • Ensuring my safety at all times
  • Encouraging and exploring new activities and interests

  • Flexible, reliable, and trustworthy
  • Understanding of learning disabilities
  • Comfortable around dogs
  • A sensible and confident driver
  • Own vehicle required, with business-class insurance

About the Role

This is a part-time position but is a formal employment role. Applicants must have a National Insurance number.

  • A trial period will be required
  • Wages will be paid four-weekly
  • Holiday pay will be provided
  • Employment is subject to satisfactory references
  • A DBS (Police) Check is required prior to starting (cost covered by the Local Authority)
  • Applicants must have the right to work in the UK
