The working hours are 16:00 – 20:00, Monday to Friday, 20 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean classrooms, laboratories, offices, corridors, washrooms, and other communal areas to a high standard
- Carry out routine cleaning tasks including vacuuming, mopping, dusting, sanitising surfaces, and replenishing consumables
- Empty bins and dispose of waste in accordance with site procedures
- Ensure all cleaning duties are completed efficiently, safely, and to the required quality standards
- Carry out all work in a cost-effective and competent manner
- Comply with COSHH regulations and use personal protective equipment (PPE) where required
- Maintain effective communication with colleagues, contractors, and other members of the school community
- Display appropriate warning signage when undertaking cleaning operations
- Adhere to lone working procedures where applicable
- Be familiar with emergency procedures and the location of first aid equipment
- Assist with other departmental duties as required, particularly during periods of increased workload, staff absence, or sickness, appropriate to the responsibilities of the role.
About You
The successful candidate will have:

- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Previous cleaning experience (preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided)
- Experience of cleaning within a school or educational environment (highly desirable)
- Knowledge of COSHH, manual handling, and general health and safety legislation
- Experience using professional cleaning equipment and following cleaning procedures.
