The Governors are seeking to appoint a Part-time Chaplain to lead and nurture the spiritual life of the school community, taking charge of Christian faith development across the College.
Founded on Christian principles, St David’s College is committed to the development of the whole person through a broad and enriching education in a supportive family environment. The Chaplain will play a central role in helping us fulfil the Foundational aims of the Trust:
“The aim of the Trust is the development of the whole person through a general education in the best and wisest sense, with a wide choice of interest and activity and an appreciation of moral and spiritual values. The presentation of the Evangelical Christian faith showing the love of Christ both by example and teaching is to be an essential part of any school carried on by the Trust.” (Trust Deeds)
The successful candidate will be a visible and valued presence within the daily life of the school, offering pastoral leadership, spiritual guidance and compassionate support to pupils, staff and the wider community.
At St David’s, the Chaplaincy provides a vital thread of Christian values, care, compassion, service and belonging, woven through every aspect of school life. It offers each young person the opportunity to understand who they are, explore what they believe, and build a strong foundation of character that will serve them far beyond their school years. The Chaplaincy warmly welcomes those of all faiths and none. It is a place of thought, reflection, support and self-discovery, grounded in mutual respect, dignity and tolerance.
The role includes leading assemblies and services, supporting Sunday chapel provision, providing pastoral care, working closely with the safeguarding and pastoral teams, and contributing to major school events throughout the year including Harvest, Christmas and Easter services.
The Chaplain will work closely with the Headmaster, pastoral leaders, boarding staff and wider school community, and will be expected to build strong links with local churches and Christian organisations across North Wales.
Applicants who are both ordained and non-ordained are warmly invited to apply.
