About the Role
Yeading Parish is looking for a highly organised and compassionate Parish Administrator to provide essential administrative support to the Parish Priest and parish team.
This is a varied and rewarding role where you will be at the heart of parish life—supporting day-to-day operations, coordinating communications, and helping to deliver important liturgical and community events.
Key Responsibilities
Parish Administration & Office Support
- Provide administrative support including correspondence, typing, and record-keeping
- Manage diaries, appointments, and parish events
- Maintain accurate filing systems in line with diocesan procedures
- Order office supplies and ensure equipment is maintained
- Prepare agendas, papers, and minutes for parish meetings
Communications & Front of House
- Act as the first point of contact for the parish office
- Welcome visitors, clergy, and volunteers in a professional and compassionate manner
- Support parish staff with systems such as HR self-service
Events & Parish Activities
- Organise and support liturgical services and parish events
- Manage parish room bookings and facilities
- Assist with baptisms, weddings, and funeral registers and documentation
- Support community and fundraising activities
Compliance & Coordination
- Assist with GDPR compliance and safeguarding processes (e.g., DBS checks)
- Liaise with contractors, surveyors, and diocesan services
- Support health & safety arrangements
(Where applicable) Finance & Bookkeeping
- Maintain parish financial records (using OPAS system)
- Process income, donations, and Gift Aid
- Complete reconciliations and support financial reporting
What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who is:

✔ Professional, friendly, and empathetic when dealing with people

✔ Discreet and able to handle sensitive information confidentially
✔ Flexible and proactive, with strong attention to detail
Essential Requirements
- Previous administrative experience (e.g., Administrator or Secretary level)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher)
- Understanding of the Catholic Church and a commitment to its mission
Experience working in a faith-based or charitable setting is welcome but not essential.
