This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference by empowering parents and carers with the knowledge, skills and support they need to help their children thrive. The service includes both practical guidance and opportunities for peer support, helping parents feel less isolated and more confident in supporting their child’s wellbeing.
About the role
As Project Manager, you will take responsibility for developing and delivering the parenting support project across West Sussex. You will provide leadership for the service, working closely with the Head of Children, Young People and Family Services to support the ongoing management, development and delivery of the project.
You will also provide line management and support to peer support workers and volunteers, ensuring the service is delivered in a compassionate, safe and effective way that reflects the values of West Sussex Mind.
Part of the role includes facilitating a peer support group one Wednesday evening every fortnight, which may be delivered either virtually or in person and is a key requirement of the role.
About you
We are looking for someone with experience working in children and young people’s mental health, parenting or family support services, with experience of supervision or management.

You will also bring:
- Strong organisational, administrative and planning skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and complex situations
- Experience supporting, training and developing employees and volunteers
- A commitment to empowering parents and carers and promoting peer support
A qualification in project management or a related professional field (such as teaching, social work, youth work or counselling) would be desirable.
Project aims
