PA Coordinator

Salary:  £25,789.40

Hours:  35 hours per week Monday-Friday between 8 – 5 (pattern to be agreed)

Type of contract:  Permanent

Location:  The role is office based in Worthing, West Sussex. Some travel around Sussex and beyond.

Reporting to:  Head of Direct Payments and Personalisation

Overview:

We’re looking for a PA Coordinator to join our Direct Payments team and help us build a strong, engaged network of Personal Assistants (PAs) who support our customers across Sussex.

Role Overview

As our PA Coordinator, you will:

  • Build, manage and develop our database of Personal Assistants.
  • Proactively recruit new PAs to meet the individual needs of Direct Payment customers.
  • Attend community events, job fairs and outreach activities to promote PA opportunities.
  • Act as the key link between PAs, customers and advisers, supporting smooth introductions and positive working relationships.
  • Provide ongoing support, engagement and communication to our growing PA community.
  • Ensure compliance with DBS, training and right‑to‑work checks.

This is a varied, people‑focused role where no two days are the same — ideal for someone who is organised, proactive and passionate about supporting others.

Empowerment Volunteer

Salary:  Voluntary role - reasonable expenses claimable

Hours:  Around one day a week

Type of contract:  Volunteer

Location:  Office in Worthing or the community, based on needs and preference

Reporting to:  Direct Payments Team

Overview:

Help people build confidence, independence and a stronger voice.

Do you want to support disabled people and carers to feel empowered and informed? Become an Empowerment Volunteer at Independent Lives and make a meaningful difference in someone’s day.

Role Overview:
As an Empowerment Volunteer, you will:

  • Help customers understand what support is available and how to access it.
  • Assist with workshops and activities that promote independence and self‑advocacy.
  • Share success stories and feedback that help improve our services.

  • A positive, supportive attitude and a passion for helping others.
  • Good listening skills and the ability to communicate clearly.
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for community engagement.

As an Engagement Volunteer, you will:

  • Speak with customers to gather feedback about their experiences.
  • Help review information and ensure customer records are clear and accessible.
  • Support the team in improving how our services are delivered and communicated.

  • Friendly, patient communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
  • An interest in helping people feel heard and supported.
