The Student Engagement Department at Strath Union is recruiting for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented Opportunities Assistant with strong admin skills and an interest in supporting student societies and volunteers at Strathclyde.

Main Activities & Responsibilities

  • Provide admin and project support within the Opportunities Team for societies, volunteering and Jobshop

  • Primarily support societies staff with daily admin tasks which will include but is not limited to

o Inbox management

o Website Support

o Room and equipment bookings

o Societies Executive Committee support

  • Extra duties when required, for example event support.

  • Dealing with and signposting enquiries via email and in person

  • Assist with collating Newsletter content

  • Database management

Hours

  • 8 hours per week minimum contract flexible from Monday-Friday

  • Contract ends 29th May 2026 but with potential for extension

Salary

  • Salary £13ph

Person Specification

Essential

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience of working as part of a team

  • Ability to work independently and using initiative

  • Commitment to equal opportunities

  • A positive, student-centred approach

  • Experience using databases and spreadsheets

Desirable

  • Understanding of societies within Strath Union

  • Experience Experience updating web content
