About NUSU:
We are Newcastle University Students' Union (NUSU) - an innovative and student-led organisation dedicated to making the university experience unforgettable. As a charity, we are committed to enriching student life through exciting opportunities, wellbeing support and championing the student voice. Working closely with Newcastle University, we're right at the heart of campus, offering a dynamic space that includes a live music venue, bar, supermarket, merchandise shop, food outlets, study spaces, and more.
Summary of the role:
The Activities Access Fund helps students overcome financial barriers so they can take part in the wide range of opportunities available through NUSU. As Opportunities Administrator, you'll play an important role in making sure students can access this support quickly, fairly and effectively. Working alongside the Inclusion and Community Coordinator, you'll provide a friendly and accessible first point of contact for students and student groups, responding to enquiries and helping applicants understand the fund and its processes.
You'll also support the assessment and administration of funding application, maintain accurate records, process payments and help ensure the fund is managed effectively. The role combines student-facing work with detailed adminstration, data management and financial processing. You'll work with large volumes of information, ensuring records are accurate and up to date, while supporting reporting and evaluation of the fund.
It's a great opportunity for someone who is organised, confident working with data and enjoys helping people. You'll develop a strong understanding of student opportunities and play a direct role in reducing barriers to participation.
