Come and Make a Difference in Wallsend
At Wallsend Children’s Community, we believe that it takes a village to raise a child so our work therefore supports people and organisations in the communities to collectively deliver better outcomes for children and young people.
Our work spans all the services that touch children and young people’s lives and our approach includes network and capacity building, convening and facilitating groups and collaborations that wouldn’t usually come together, fundraising, research and data collection, knowledge sharing, direct community activity, the sharing of lived experience and policy advocacy. Everything is focused on learning and supporting our community to address the root causes of inequality and create positive and inspiring outcomes for children and young people.
Having spun out of Save the Children in 2025 and establishing our own charity, we are now looking for an Operations Administrator to join our friendly and committed team.
What You’ll Be Doing
As operations administrator, operating 18.5 hours per week, you will ensure daily business efficiency by managing administrative tasks, supporting workflows, and maintaining operational records. Key responsibilities include financial and HR administration, developing and maintaining administrative systems (databases), coordinating comms and marketing activities and stakeholder events, coordinating monitoring and evaluation reporting and supporting governance, compliance with health and safety standards.
Who We’re Hoping to Meet
We would love to hear from you if you are:
- Solutions-focused with a creative problem-solving approach
- A strong team player with an empowering and collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
- Positive, organised and able to juggle a few things at once
- Have a high proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Google suites and a variety of software applications such as Quickbooks
- Experience of a broad range of business practices including purchasing and budget administration
You don’t need formal qualifications for this role, what matters most is your experience, commitment, and ability to demonstrate you can quickly establish structured approached to business operations.
Experience working in the charitable sector across multiple stakeholder would be helpful, as would an understanding of how poverty impacts children, families and neighbourhoods.
Safeguarding Matters
This post has been classified to be a Level 1 position. A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) basic check will be obtained for employees at this level prior to their Start Date. This level of check will disclose details of any unspent convictions and conditional cautions from the Police National Computer (PNC). In the absence of a DBS an overseas criminal record check would be conducted.
Why Join Us?
You will be joining a supportive, values driven team that genuinely believes in the power of community. This is a chance to:
- Help shape a new charity and its operations
- Establish systems, structures and processes to ensure our efficient and effective long term success
- Be part of something hopeful and ambitious
If you’re excited by the idea of working alongside our small team to enable us to support our communities to create positive change, we’d love to hear from you.
Come and help us build a Wallsend where every child matters.
