Job Title:                 Officiating Administrator (Annualised Hours)

Reporting to:            Officiating Social Impact Officer

Location:                  Remote Work from Home, with occasional travel to Trent Bridge

Hours:                      Annualised Hours 390 hours per year (approximately 7.5 hours per week,

to be worked flexibly over the year)

Salary:                       £5142.85 (£24,000 per annum pro rata)

Trent Bridge Community Trust is seeking a highly organised and reliable individual to support the delivery of officiating across Nottinghamshire through a structured and systems-focused role.

This role ensures the smooth and effective coordination of umpire and scorer appointments, alongside maintaining key systems and administrative processes that underpin the officiating programme.

This role is ideally suited to someone with experience in cricket administration, particularly within officiating, who understands the importance of accurate systems, clear communication and responsive support.

You will work closely with the Officiating Social Impact Officer, who will lead on engagement and development, and the Officiating Advisory Group to provide administrative support to programme delivery.

This is an annualised hours contract, offering flexibility in how the hours are worked across the week and over the year. The post requires regular oversight of systems and a responsive approach, including some evenings and weekends.

In addition, the successful candidate will be required to undergo enhanced disclosure checks with the Disclosure and Barring Service.

2. SPECIFIC ROLE PROFILE

To provide administrative and operational support to officiating across Nottinghamshire, ensuring the effective delivery of appointments and core administration that underpin the recruitment, development and retention of umpires and scorers.

The role will work alongside the Officiating Social Impact Officer and Officiating Advisory Group to ensure the smooth and efficient running of officiating activity across the county.

Priority Focus Areas

  1. Appointments – Coordinate umpire and scorer appointments through Who’s the Umpire (WtU).
  2. Systems and Data – Maintain accurate officiating records and systems.
  3. Governance – Support the Officiating Advisory Group.
  4. Administration – Deliver core administrative support across officiating programmes.

A. Appointments

  1. Coordinate and manage umpire and scorer appointments for County Age Group and University fixtures.
  2. Maintain and update fixtures and appointments using WtU.
  3. Identify gaps in appointments and appoint suitable officials including for development opportunities.
  4. Respond to late withdrawals, changes and short-notice issues, including evenings and weekends when required.

B. Systems and Data

  1. Maintain and update records on the ACO Hub and Upshot.
  2. Create and manage courses on Cvent and CRM.
  3. Upload course attendees and track officiating progression.
  4. Ensure data accuracy across all systems.
  5. Manage payments of umpires, scorers, tutors and suppliers.

C. Governance

  1. Coordinate Officiating Advisory Group meetings.
  2. Prepare and distribute agendas and supporting documentation.
  3. Arrange meeting logistics including room bookings and facilities.
  4. Take minutes and distribute actions following meetings.
  5. Support the implementation and tracking of agreed actions.

D. Administration

  1. Support the delivery of officiating programmes through effective administration.
  2. Coordinate communications to support officiating activity.
  3. Provide administrative support to the Officiating Development and Social Impact Officer where required.

3.   KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS 

  • Delivery of a minimum of three ECB umpire courses per year, with all administration, systems and logistics completed effectively.
  • Percentage of fixtures successfully appointed with appropriate officials across County Age Group and partner competitions.
  • Timely and accurate processing of payments to officials, tutors and suppliers.
  • Delivery of a minimum of four Officiating Advisory Group meetings per year, including agendas, minutes and action tracking.
  • Accuracy and completeness of officiating data across ACO Hub, Upshot and CRM systems.
  • Satisfaction of key partners, including universities and competition providers, in relation to appointments and administration.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential


• Experience of working in cricket administration, either in a paid or voluntary capacity.
• Experience of using systems and databases to manage information accurately.
• Experience of supporting meetings, including preparation of agendas, minute taking and action tracking.
• An understanding of systems and databases, and how they are used to manage and maintain accurate records.
• An understanding of cricket officiating structures and pathways.
• An understanding of basic financial processes, budget tracking and monitoring.
• Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Confident in using IT systems and databases, with the ability to learn and adapt to new systems quickly.
• Ability to manage workload effectively.
• Clear and effective communication skills.

• Organised and reliable, with a strong attention to detail.
• Professional and trustworthy, with the ability to handle information sensitively and accurately.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating accountability and consistency.
• Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends where required.
• Holds or is willing to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.
• Ability to travel to Trent Bridge on occasion, where required.

Desirable


• Experience of using Who’s the Umpire (WtU) or similar scheduling systems.
• Experience of coordinating fixtures or appointments.
• Experience in financial administration, including processing payments.

 Ability to analyse and apply data and insight to measure and demonstrate impact.
• A qualification in cricket umpiring or scoring.
• A qualification in administration.
