£28,560 pa (FTE) plus enhancements for night shifts.
37.5 hours per week – part time may also be considered at 30 or 36 hours per week

About us:
Our vision at Bluebell Wood is for every baby, child and young person with a life limiting condition to access specialist palliative care, where and when they need it. You will join our fantastic team where we all play our part in achieving our vision and creating an incredible culture for everyone.
Our services
Our uncompromisable support services are wide-ranging and bespoke to each family. We provide symptom management, end-of-life care, post-death care, short breaks, counselling, sibling support groups, music therapy, home visits and more.
We support families across a large geographical area, including South Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire, North Derbyshire and parts of North Lincolnshire. The hospice is easily accessible from Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster, Sheffield and North Notts. We have free secure on-site parking for families, staff and volunteers to use.Every year we need to raise £6.7m to keep our doors open and only around 17% of our income comes from government sources, the rest must be raised through fundraising activity.
The Role:
We are seeking qualified Nursing Associates who want to be part of our Care team. You will be working as part of a supportive team consisting of nurses, nursing associates, care support workers and other health professionals.
You will provide a high standard of holistic care and be able to balance opportunities for children to experience play, social interaction and learning alongside meeting the diverse nursing needs of the children supported by Bluebell Wood.

We are looking for resilient, motivated, and innovative individuals who want to deliver high-quality, evidence-based paediatric palliative care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, holistic and person-centred care to babies, children and young people with palliative care needs, working within own scope of practice and under the direction of a registered nurse.
- Implement a defined plan of care following organisational policies and Standard Operating Procedures to deliver; planned short breaks, symptom management and end of life care.
- Safely administer prescribed medicines, including controlled drugs, via a range of routes in line with policy, ensuring competence, accountability and adherence to legal and professional standards.
- Work flexibly and collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical records and effective communication to support safe, continuous care.

Bluebell Wood temporarily suspends clinical services
Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice is suspending clinical services temporarily. A combination of factors including a shortage of clinical staff at different levels has led to the temporary closure from 31 May, which will remain in place until appropriate staff levels can be assured.
