About Romeo & Juliet
English National Ballet revives Rudolf Nureyev’s acclaimed interpretation of Shakespeare’s tragedy. Set in Renaissance Verona, the production brings to life the conflict between the Montagues and Capulets and the intensity of the young lovers’ story. Prokofiev’s score is performed live by the ENB Philharmonic.
Role Requirements
These are
There is a requirement for performers in the role of
bearerto be able to:- Lift 30kg above shoulder height
- Push and pull heavy loads as required by the production
There is a requirement for all performers to be able to:
- Demonstrate basic stagecraft skills
- Run safely and repeatedly as part of staged action
- Demonstrate sufficient musicality to work confidently within a ballet production environment
Applicants must be comfortable working in a highly physical environment and collaborating closely with dancers, stage management, and the wider Artistic, Production and Technical teams.

- Manchester Palace Theatre:21–25 October 2026
- Mayflower Theatre, Southampton:3–5 December 2026
- London Coliseum:January 2027 run (14–24 January 2027)
Please note that for UK tour dates to Liverpool, Manchester and Southampton, travel, accommodation, and per diems will be covered by English National Ballet. For the performance week at the London Coliseum, and the rehearsal week, this will be a weekly fee only.
