We have an exciting opportunity for a Compliance No Access Officer to join our Building Safety team at whg.
This role is critical in supporting the effective delivery of Building Safety compliance and maintenance services, ensuring that all activities are delivered in a timely, cost-effective, customer-focused and safe manner, in line with legislative requirements and internal SLAs/KPIs.
You will play a key role in achieving 100% landlord compliance, working closely with customers including those who may initially refuse access to ensure essential safety checks and works are completed.
Flexible working is required to meet the demands of the service. Your normal working hours are 37 hours per week. Your manager will advise you in advance when the team is required to start and finish work. Your normal start and finish times may vary from time to time at the discretion of your manager.
You may be required to work additional hours in line with operational requirements.
Main job responsibilities:
- Working collaboratively with Building Safety Managers, planners and internal teams to achieve full compliance across all properties
- Engaging directly with customers to secure access for safety checks and maintenance works
- Managing cases where access has been refused, using a professional, customer-focused and solution-led approach
- Carrying out daily site visits at varying times to secure appointments and progress compliance actions
- Liaising with customers and colleagues via phone, email and other channels to meet appointment targets and KPIs
- Improving the customer experience through feedback, insight gathering and service improvements
- Undertaking information gathering through site visits and system interrogation
- Hand-delivering legal notices, letters and warrants where required
- Monitoring compliance activity through daily checks and proactively addressing overdue servicing or repairs
- Promoting and adhering to Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality standards
- Ensuring all works are compliant with current legislation and regulatory requirements
- Acting in line with whg policies, procedures and values at all times
We're looking for someone who has:
- A good understanding of health & safety legislation and landlord compliance obligations
- Experience of working in a customer-facing environment, ideally within housing or property
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage a wide range of customers
- Excellent organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
- A solution-focused mindset with strong problem-solving ability
- The confidence to handle sensitive situations, including refusal of access
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
- A professional and courteous approach at all times
- A full, clean driving licence (essential)
