Job Overview
Background
Neighbourhood Networks is a registered Scottish Charity with 20 year’s experience of facilitating peer networks with vulnerable adults across the Central Belt of Scotland.We work with people who may be isolated or at risk of isolation within their communities. This may be as a result of a learning disability, poor mental health, a physical disability, sensory impairment or as a result of a variety of other circumstances.
The Role
The Network Manager is responsible for the day to day management of at least three networks and has a duty to see that they and Community Living Workers provide a consistent high standard of service to network members.Skills

Job Description
The Network Manager is expected to be a self-starter capable of both taking initiative and working closely with colleagues. The post- holder will need to display a “can-do” approach in line with the organisation’s values.Neighbourhood Networks emphasise's a team approach to work. A full induction will be provided for this role The Network Manager is line managed by the Operations Manager or Depute Director who are part of the senior management team. The Network Manager will spend the majority of their time in the locality of the Networks being managed. Office accommodation within the Central Office will also be available. There is an expectation that the Network Manager will attend the office in Glasgow for central team meetings and other meetings relevant to their role. Some of these meetings will be hybrid.

The Network Manager is a full-time post of 22.5 hours a week. This post will involve some unsocial hours working. The appointment will be subject to a six-month probationary period.
The Network Manager is expected to be self-servicing in administration and have experience of using Office 365 and digital platforms including zoom and Microsoft Teams. Appropriate support will be provided during induction to learn Neighbourhood Networks systems.
Overall Job Purpose
The Network Manager is responsible for the day to day management of a minimum of 2 networks and has a duty to see that they and the Community Living Workers provide a consistent high standard of service to network members.
Specific responsibilities
Managing Community Living Workers
1. To recruit, train and supervise Community Living Workers within the allocated networks.
2. To assist Community Living Workers in developing links with other agencies offering support to network members.
3. To provide a crisis intervention service for Community Living Workers, including network member issues, and cover for Community Living Workers while they are on leave or off sick.
4. Ensure Community Living Workers facilitate mutual support between network members and regular members’ meetings.
5. To monitor, evaluate, & develop the practice of all Community Living Workers.
Work with Network Members
6. To secure referrals and play a leading role in selecting members for networks on a timely basis to keep networks running fully occupied.
7. To ensure effective up to date assessment and selection procedure for network members is in place and operating using person-centred planning approaches.
8. To ensure effective safeguarding of network members, ensuring risk screening and risk management plans are kept up to date.
9. Report any Adult/Child Protection concerns following the organisation’s polices and procedures.
10. To monitor and evaluate work with members in the networks for which the post-holder is responsible.
Development
11. To participate in the development of new networks with the guidance of the SMT.
12. To ensure productive relations with funding agencies in the allocated areas, good networking to maintain contracts, to develop improved understanding and recognition of Neighbourhood Network’s unique service and contribute to the review and negotiation of Neighbourhood Network’s service agreements.
Team
13. To be an active member of the staff team in Neighbourhood Networks, promoting teamwork, contributing to the review and development of Neighbourhood Network’s management and operational systems.
14. To participate in peer supervision sessions for Network Manager’s in order to share and develop good management practice for the networks and to formalise good practice guidelines for Neighbourhood Networks.
15. After 3 months in your role, take part in the out-of-hour Rota alongside other managers to provide telephone support to staff and members out with office hours and at weekends. This is a messaging service where you may be required to provide telephone support. On average this is once a week and weekend cover every 7 weeks. The out-of-hour service is not an overnight service and operating hours are between 5pm-10pm weekdays and 10am-10pm at weekends.
16. Network Mangers will also be expected to oversee project work as part of their role to contribute to the wider work of the organisation.
Training and SSSC registration
17. Network Managers are responsible for maintaining their SSSC (Scottish Social Services Council) registration and CPL (Continuous Professional Learning) requirements of this.
Finance
To control and authorise the expenditure of designated budget areas devolved to the Network Manager.
Report Writing
Undertake reporting on a regular basis to local authorities and other stakeholders.
Other Duties
To undertake other such duties as the organisation may reasonably
require.
Person Specification

Written skills to provide succinct reports for the line manager, funding agencies and Neighbourhood Networks Board.
