Network Assembly Chair (National CPRE) – Volunteer

Closing date: Tuesday 3 March 2026
Interviews: An informal interview will take place either online or at our office in London.
Interview date:  TBA
Salary: This is a volunteer role, out of pocket expenses will be paid

We’re looking for an Assembly chair who is motivated by playing a leading
role in maximising the potential of the whole CPRE community to strengthen
its voice and activities for the benefit of the countryside.

The Assembly meets quarterly, usually mid-week, for about three hours. The
meetings are held online. There’ll be preparation and liaising to undertake ahead of
meetings, so we expect this role will require a time commitment of half a day a week,
two to three days a month.

The chair of the Assembly is elected annually, can serve for a maximum of three years,
and attends the trustee board meetings of the national CPRE charity.

There are many benefits to this volunteering role. Our experience from similar roles
indicates that people have learnt new skills and that the role complemented their
professional and personal life. Many also report that it’s made them happier and they’ve
gained confidence to help with future aspirations.

How to apply

You should apply online via the volunteer hub, where you can share your
motivations for the role with us. You’ll also be required to upload your CV and give
the contact details of two people we can approach for references if you are the
successful candidate.

The deadline for applications is Tuesday 3 March 2026.
Once we receive your application, our Nominations Committee will carry out

Once we receive your application, our Nominations Committee will carry out a
short-listing process and identify the candidates who most clearly match the
requirements of the role. These candidates will be invited for an informal interview,
either online or at our office in London.

If you require any special arrangements or assistance in making your application, or
at interview, then please include this in your online application.
