Job title: N.E.S.T Coordinator
Location: Newcastle University campus (office based)
Employment type: Part-time (30 hours per week, equivalent to 4 days per week), fixed-term contract until August 2028.
Salary: £28,877 per annum (full-time equivalent). This part-time position offers a salary of £23,101 per annum, with annual incremental progression within Grade B.

The role:
We're looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate N.E.S.T Coordinator to join the Opportunities Team at NUSU.
North East Solidarity and Teaching (N.E.S.T) is a refugee support project that helps members of the fored migrated community to improve their English language skills, build confidence, and feel welcomed within the local community. It provides a warm and supportive environment where learners can develop skills, build relationships, and thrive.
As N.E.S.T Coordinator, you'll lead the training and support of our student volunteers, helping them develop the skills, confidence, and cultural awareness needed to make a meaningful impact. Through this experience, volunteers gain valuable leadership, communication, and community engagement skills that will benefit them long after their time with N.E.S.T.
We're looking for someone with experience delivering ESOL provision and training others, who can bring both expertise and enthusiasm to supporting learners and volunteers alike. Experience of working within the N.E.S.T project or a similar community-based language support programme would be advantageous, although this is not essential.
This role offers a unique opportunity to transform lives in two ways: supporting learners to build brighter futures while empowering sutdents to become confident, compassionate leaders.
