Navigator, Housing First

Salem Street, Bradford
Full-time
26th June 2026
Listed today

We are excited to share that we are looking for a Navigator to join our Housing First team.  For over 40 years, The Bridge Project has been providing support.  We work with individuals, families and communities to improve people’s lives in a sustainable way, recognising that solutions are often complex.  Our work is rooted in compassion, respect and the belief that everyone deserves the chance to thrive.

With a team of 120 passionate colleagues, we continue to grow and strengthen our impact. If you are driven by purpose and want to help create lasting change, we would love to hear from you.

Housing First has proven success in supporting people with multiple needs and vulnerabilities to maintain housing. The main premise is that an individual should not need to prove they are ready for housing and is instead given a permanent offer of their own home, along with an intensive long-term support package to enable them to maintain it. Housing First is delivered as a partnership between Bradford Council and the Bridge Project.

We are looking for someone who is qualified to Social Care Level 3 or equivalent or qualified through appropriate life or job experience along with at least 1 years’ experience of delivering advice or support in health, social care, homelessness or an offender service setting in the last 3 years. You will be highly organised with excellent communication skills and able to manage your time effectively, working as part of a supportive team to ensure a high-quality service is maintained, whilst applying your knowledge and understanding of trauma informed care approaches.

Most of all, you will place individuals at the heart of your interactions, with the ability to build up a rapport and trust, with personal skills around warmth, compassion, empathy and resilience with a desire to help people and get things done. Often situations can sometimes be difficult and challenging so you will need to be non-judgemental with a good understanding of the needs of chronically excluded and vulnerable people.

It is essential that the successful candidate has a driving licence with access to a vehicle and business insurance, in order to transport clients in connection with the role.  A willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check is also a requirement of the post.

Alongside a rewarding career, you’ll enjoy a benefits package designed to help you thrive:

  • Competitive salary that reflects your skills and contribution
  • 32 days of annual leave to rest, recharge, and enjoy life outside work and statutory leave in addition to this
  • 5% employer pension contribution to support your long‑term financial security
  • A dedicated Learning & Development programme to help you grow and progress
  • 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme offering confidential advice whenever you need it
  • Death‑in‑service benefit worth three times your salary for added peace of mind
  • Refer‑a‑friend bonus of £500 when you help us bring great people on board
  • Two hours of monthly wellbeing time to pause, connect, and reset with your team
  • A programme of mindfulness activities to boost focus on overall wellbeing
  • Access to a Blue Light Card, giving you discounts across hundreds of retailers, restaurants, and leisure brands.

The Bridge Project is proud to be a Mindful Employer, championing a workplace where wellbeing truly matters.

If you would like to have an informal conversation about the role, please contact Angela Berthebaud, Service Manager on angela.berthebaud@thebridgeproject.org.uk to arrange this.

You must complete the Bridge Project’s application form in order to be considered for the role.  The application form plays a key part in our recruitment and selection process.  We use the information you provide about your skills, experience, career and education history to decide whether or not to invite you for an interview.  It is important that you complete the application form as fully and accurately as possible, ensuring that you give specific examples which demonstrate how you meet the criteria.
