National Membership Co-ordinator Hours: 14 per week Location: Home-based, fully online. We welcome applications from candidates living anywhere in the UK. Salary: £12,250 per annum (14 hours per week, £32,000 FTE) Reporting to: Membership Manager About Electric Umbrella We are a vibrant, inclusive charity creating life-changing opportunities for learning disabled people through music and community. We challenge perceptions, reduce social isolation, and support our members to grow in confidence, creativity, and connection. Through our free national online programmes, we remove geographical and financial barriers so that learning disabled people aged 18+ across the UK can access high-quality creative opportunities and feel part of a supportive, visible, and celebrated community. Role Purpose The National Membership Co-ordinator is responsible for growing and nurturing our free, national online membership programme. This includes engaging learning disabled adults aged 18+ from across the UK through digital provision such as Singalong, EUTV, online social spaces, and virtual events. This is a fully remote role. We actively encourage and welcome applications from candidates living anywhere in the UK. The role focuses on building strong relationships with members who primarily engage online, supporting them to feel welcomed, confident, and connected, and fostering friendships and participation across the wider programme. The post-holder will also develop partnerships with organisations nationwide to promote our programmes and create strong signposting routes. By expanding access beyond geographical boundaries, this role plays a key part in reducing isolation, increasing visibility, and building a truly national community. The role also has a central responsibility for maintaining high-quality data to support impact reporting, funding, and service development. Key Responsibilities 1. National Outreach and Partnership Development ● Build and maintain partnerships with charities, education providers, social care organisations, and community groups across the UK. ● Develop national signposting pathways to reach learning disabled adults aged 18+. ● Promote online programmes through partner networks, campaigns, and digital outreach. ● Represent the organisation at national and regional online events and networks. 2. Member Engagement and Support ● Welcome and support new national members, ensuring they feel confident using online platforms and accessing opportunities. ● Support members who take on roles as Regional Ambassadors, helping them build confidence, leadership, and visibility within their local and online communities. ● Provide ongoing encouragement and personalised support to help members engage regularly. ● Foster meaningful relationships and peer connections within the online community. ● Support members who engage intermittently to increase confidence and sustained participation. ● Encourage online members to attend in-person events where appropriate and accessible. 3. Online Programme Coordination and Delivery ● Support the delivery of national online sessions, social spaces, and events. ● Work closely with creative and delivery teams to ensure online provision is engaging, inclusive, and accessible. ● Monitor participation and troubleshoot access or technical barriers. 4. Data, Monitoring, and Impact ● Maintain accurate records of all national online members, including demographics, participation, and engagement. ● Track member journeys across digital programmes and occasional in-person activity. ● Support the collection of impact data relating to wellbeing, confidence, musical development, and social connection. ● Ensure data is managed in line with organisational systems and data protection requirements. ● Contribute to reporting for funders, trustees, and service development. 5. Partnership and Team Working ● Work closely with the Membership Manager and Local Membership Co-ordinator to ensure joined-up provision across local and national programmes. ● Collaborate with education, creative, and operations teams to support member journeys. ● Share insight and learning from national members to inform programme development. ● Contribute to team planning, reviews, and continuous improvement. Person Specification Essential ● Experience working with learning disabled people or vulnerable adults in community, education, or support settings. ● Strong digital communication and relationship-building skills. ● Confidence in using online platforms and supporting others to engage digitally. ● Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. ● Experience maintaining accurate records and working with data systems. ● Ability to work independently and manage a national workload. ● Commitment to inclusion, access, and the values of Electric Umbrella. Desirable ● Experience in national partnership development or network building. ● Knowledge of the learning disability sector across the UK. ● Experience supporting online communities. ● Understanding of person-centred approaches and progression pathways.
