The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) is one of the world’s most influential dance education organisations and we are seeking an inspirational and strategically minded National Director for the USA.
With a presence in more than 80 countries and a community of 12,000 members worldwide, the RAD works to inspire the world to dance. Our mission is to promote excellence and joy in dance teaching and learning, empowering people with skills for life.
About the roleAs National Director you will lead the development, growth and delivery of RAD’s operations across the United States, ensuring the smooth delivery of exams, teacher training programmes, safeguarding practices, marketing activity and member engagement.
You will also play a pivotal role in developing the US’s strategy for growth, enhancing visibility and recognition of our qualifications, and building relationships across the US dance sector.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead US operations including exams, teacher training, continuing professional development, safeguarding, retail and marketing
- Oversee financial and governance compliance
- Develop a clear and ambitious strategy for growth within the USA.
- Build partnerships with organisations, leaders and influencers in the dance education community.
- Manage financial performance, budgets and statutory requirements.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues in the UK and internationally.
We are looking for a confident and forward-thinking leader with:
- Significant experience in dance education, cultural organisations, or a related sector.
- Strong knowledge of the US dance landscape and established professional networks.
- Experience running or managing a business or charity operation.
- A strategic mindset with excellent organisational, interpersonal and leadership skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding, equality, and the RAD’s values.
