Multi Trade Operative - Joiner - Maintenance

Main Purpose: To maintain the properties within the Target portfolio to a high standard; to carry out planned, reactive and emergency repairs as and when required within agreed timescales; to build and nurture relationships with internal and external customers.
Specific Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Work independently on task lists
- Maintenance and repair work for buildings and facilities
- Completing joinery, such as but not limited to first and second fixed joinery skills
- Basic plumbing tasks
- Assist and liaise with external contractors and others as necessary
- Undertake emergency jobs (e.g. reacting to the impact of weather conditions on buildings and grounds)
- Be involved with building and maintenance work, when required, to alter or create workspaces suitable for the needs of the business
- Maintenance of buildings and offices to comply with current legislation
- To understand and comply with Health and Safety regulations
- Responsible for own personal safety and risk assess each situation accordingly using the provided safety planning information
- Highlight any safeguarding concerns to the Management Team
- Mentor new recruits to ensure they meet the needs of the organisation
- Attend all relevant training courses and meetings as required
- Attend a minimum of Bi-annual One to One meetings
- Be responsible for a company vehicle and ensure all checks and documentation are completed and accurate
- Adhere to all Target Housing’s policies and procedures
- Perform any other duties as requested or required to further the aims of the organisation and as directed by the Management Team
Person Specification:
- Able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team
- You will demonstrate good aptitude for ‘hands on’ work and the use of hand tools
- Good communication skills with the ability to follow instructions
- You have a positive ‘can do’ attitude, with adaptability to change and varying work priorities
- You will have excellent reliability & flexibility as a team member, committed to excellent levels of punctuality and attendance
- You will be a high-quality installer/fitter/joiner
- A full driving licence is essential
- An awareness of Health & Safety working practices
