40 hours per week – Monday to Friday – 8:00am to 4:30pm

We have an opportunity for a Multi-Trade Operative to join our team, predominantly working in and around the Manchester area. This role sits within the Voids Team and is responsible for bringing void properties back to a lettable standard, by using a wide range of skills and working alongside other Multi-Trade Operatives.

With a mix of skills and qualifications, the role will involve working on repairs for predominantly void properties and will cover all aspects of general building repairs and maintenance, including carpentry, plumbing and wet trades. Installing windows, composite and UPVC doors, installing kitchens, bathrooms and low level access shower wet rooms, fencing and other minor works. You must have qualifications in Joinery, and competency in other trades.

You’ll work largely with the wider team sharing out of hours call outs on a rota basis with some lone working required. Company van and tools included.

The role of Multi – Trade Operative will include:

  • Carrying out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties in line with contract specifications
  • Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and restocking these when needed
  • Responding positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery, by resolving problems or set into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed
  • Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of works that is easily understood by the customer

 

Skills and experiences:

  • To ensure full compliance with Building Safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to or undertaking NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (joinery, plumbing. If plumbing Level 3 is required, Unvented - G3 Certificate and Water Regulations (WRAS). As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted
  • Awareness of health and safety regulations and working legislation
  • Skills in some of the following disciplines – plumbing, plastering, joinery and windows and door installation
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise workloads, work to deadlines and plan ahead
  • This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
