We have an opportunity for a Multi-Trade Operative to join our Day-To-Day team based in Swindon. We are looking for someone with Plumbing or Carpentry as their core trade. You will be covering sites across Swindon, Thatcham, Newbury, Gloucestershire and Reading areas.

You will be responsible for carrying out day-to-day routine responsive and reactive repairs in properties, including but not limited to fixing leaking taps, replacing baths, changing a door handle and hanging new doors. This role will also involve the following skill sets: tiling, UPVC door and window installation, bathroom/kitchen installation and repairs as well as plastering and patch repairs. Due to the nature of the role, mobile phone and company van will be provided as well as power tools for you to complete jobs to a high standard. We are looking for a well-rounded multi-trade operative.

The team of 12 also carry out external repairs including fencing and groundworks. You will be required to be on an emergency call out rota which is currently once every 9 weeks.

The role of Multi-Trade Operative will include:

  • Attending occupied properties to carry out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties within Social Housing
  • Resolving problems or set into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed
  • Maintaining a suitable van stock level and restocking these when needed
  • Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of works that is easily understood by the customer
  • Providing out of hours cover via a call out rota

 

Skills and experiences:

  • To ensure full compliance with Building Safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (carpentry, electrical. If Plumbing Level 3 is required, Unvented - G3 Certificate and Water Regulations (WRAS). As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted
  • Awareness of health and safety regulations and working legislation
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to priorities workloads, work to deadlines and plan ahead
  • This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
