Multi-Trade Operative
Bicester – covering sites across Cherwell
£37,358 - £39,324 per year
40 hours per week – Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 16:30pm
We are looking for a Multi-Trade Operative to join our Operations Response team based in Banbury. Covering sites across Cherwell you will be responsible for carrying out reactive repairs to occupied properties, ranging from a leaking tap to changing baths, changing a door handle to hanging a new door. The team also carry out external repairs including fencing and groundworks.
The role will include lone and team working, and you will also be required to be on an emergency call out rota. A company van and power tools will be provided for business use along with training as and when needed.
The role of Multi-Trade Operative will include:
- Attending occupied properties to carry out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties within Social Housing
- Resolving problems or set into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed
- Maintaining a suitable van stock level and restocking when needed
- Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of works that is easily understood by the customer
- Providing out of hours cover via a call out rota
Skills and experiences:
- To ensure full compliance with Building Safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to or undertaking NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (carpentry, electrical. If Plumbing Level 3 is required, Unvented - G3 Certificate and Water Regulations (WRAS). As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted
- Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise tasks
- Additional skills in some of the following disciplines - plumbing, carpentry and plastering
- Working knowledge of the health and safety regulations
