About the role
What you’ll do
• Assess clients’ debts, income, expenditure and support needs.
• Advise on budgeting, income maximisation, debt options and their implications.
• Provide casework, negotiate with third parties and respond to urgent situations.
• Refer clients to specialist services where appropriate and maintain accurate records.
• Complete required accreditation and ongoing professional training.
What you’ll bring
• Clear written and verbal communication, good numeracy and confident IT skills.
• The ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and work independently and collaboratively.
• A sensitive, inclusive and non-judgemental approach, with strong confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Commitment to training and to the aims and principles of Citizens Advice.
Knowledge of debt advice is desirable but not essential. A DBS check is required; a criminal record does not automatically prevent employment. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, including people with lived experience.
We’re Disability Confident
Disability Confident is a government scheme that supports employers to improve how they recruit, retain, and develop disabled people.
