The Bishop is seeking to appoint an Interim Minister of Hope Hamilton.
This is a 1 year fixed term post.
Hope Hamilton is a small, vibrant church community that meets in Hope Hamilton Primary School. It is a richly mixed international community, with people of African, Afro-Caribbean, Indian, Chinese, Eastern European and White British ethnicity. Over the last twenty years the congregation has changed and evolved reflecting the ongoing movement of people in and out of the area.
Their vision is expressed in prayer as:
Make Jesus the centre of our lives. Grow and strengthen us in our diversity. Give us confidence to share your good news. Lead us to those who are in need.
Hope Hamilton is part of the emerging Cornerstone Churches (East Leicester) Minister Community. The Interim Minister will support ministry in the District and work with the PCC, the Minster Community Ministry Team and the Archdeacon to identify the needs in a longer-term ministerial appointment in this area.
To this end we seek a person who:
- Is a person of prayer.
- Is approachable and a good listener.
- Can communicate the gospel well in a variety of settings.
- Can identify, encourage and release lay people into a wide variety of ministries.
- Has experience in living and or working in a diverse community.
- Has a real passion in bringing different cultures together and committed to worshiping interculturally.
- Is someone who can support the PCC administratively and release them into their roles and responsibilities.
This post will be appointed on a house for duty basis.
