About the role

Description

BUCS and AHDB are looking for enthusiastic, creative and reliable students to join the Milk Every Moment campaign as Student Ambassadors.

This is an exciting opportunity to represent the campaign at key university sport events, create engaging social media content, support event activations, and help bring the campaign to life across the student sport community.

As a Student Ambassador, you will play a key role in promoting campaign messaging, capturing authentic student-led content, and engaging with students at BUCS events throughout the academic year.

You will receive training, campaign kit, ongoing support, and opportunities to develop your skills in content creation, event delivery, brand activation, and professional communication.

The role provides a great opportunity to build your CV and gain valuable experience working with both a sports governing body and a recognised partner within higher education.

Key Responsibilities

As a Student Ambassador, you will be expected to:

  • Represent the AHDB x BUCS Milk Every Moment campaign in a positive, professional and enthusiastic way.

  • Attend selected BUCS events and campaign activations throughout the academic year.

  • Support on-site event activity, including engaging students, distributing merchandise, supporting branded stands, helping with content capture, and representing the campaign in the Moovit mascot costume at selected events.

  • Create short-form social media content for platforms such as TikTok and Instagram.

  • Capture authentic student sport moments, including behind-the-scenes content, event highlights, interviews, and “day in the life” style content.

  • Contribute creative ideas for campaign content and activations.

  • Follow approved campaign messaging, brand guidelines and content briefs.

  • Upload raw content to the shared Google Drive within agreed deadlines.

  • Attend a Student Ambassador Welcome Day in October.

  • Join monthly check-ins with the BUCS/AHDB team to discuss availability, ideas, feedback and campaign progress.

  • Complete any required pre-event briefing calls ahead of events.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for students who are:

  • Confident, approachable and enthusiastic.

  • Passionate about university sport and student life.

  • Interested in content creation, social media, marketing, events, sport, or brand activation.

  • Comfortable speaking to other students and engaging with event attendees.

  • Able to capture creative and engaging video content.

  • Reliable, organised and able to meet deadlines.

  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

  • Able to follow a brief while also bringing their own creative ideas.

  • Available for key BUCS event dates during the academic year.

  • Ideally involved in or familiar with BUCS sport, university clubs, societies, or sports departments.

Previous experience in content creation, student ambassador work, event support, marketing, or sports volunteering is helpful, but not essential.

Training and Support

Successful applicants will be required to attend a Student Ambassador Welcome Day on Friday 2 October at the University of Nottingham's David Ross Sports Village. As such, applicants should ensure they are available on this date. The Welcome Day will include:

  • Team introductions and icebreakers.

  • Introduction to BUCS and the campaign programme.

  • Overview of content expectations and event schedules.

  • Guidance on the content upload process.

  • Finance and expenses briefing.

  • Introduction to AHDB and campaign objectives.

  • Key messaging workshop.

  • Ways of working and expectations.

  • Campaign kit handout.

  • Informal content capture for a “Meet the Activators” TikTok feature.

Student Ambassador will also receive ongoing support through monthly check-ins and pre-event briefings.
