MHPSS Programme Officer
Welcome to MAP.
About MAP
Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) works for the health and dignity of Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees. For over 40 years, we have delivered essential health and medical care to those most affected by conflict, displacement, and occupation in the occupied Palestinian territory and Lebanon.
Our work supports local healthcare systems, strengthens community resilience, and advocates for Palestinians' rights to health and dignity. We work in partnership with local organisations to deliver sustainable, impactful programmes that respond to both immediate humanitarian needs and long-term development priorities.
About the Role
We are looking for a committed and motivated MHPSS Programme Officer to join our Lebanon team and support the delivery of our Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS), Child Protection, and Gender-Based Violence programmes in Palestinian refugee camps and gatherings across Lebanon.
Reporting to the MHPSS Programme Manager, you will play a key role in supporting programme implementation, monitoring, reporting, and partner capacity strengthening. The role involves regular travel to project locations, working closely with partner organisations, collecting and analysing programme data, conducting field monitoring visits, supporting safeguarding and accountability initiatives, and contributing to donor and internal reporting.
You will also support project development activities, partner due diligence processes, coordination with stakeholders, and capacity-building initiatives to help ensure programmes are delivered effectively, safely, and in line with donor requirements and MAP standards.
About You
You will have a degree in a relevant field such as psychology, social work, MHPSS, health, international development, or a related discipline, together with at least two years' experience in the humanitarian or development sector.
You will have experience supporting community-based programmes, ideally within MHPSS, Child Protection, Gender-Based Violence, or Case Management. Strong monitoring, reporting, data management, and partnership-working skills are essential, along with excellent written and spoken Arabic and English.
We are looking for someone who is highly organised, proactive, and able to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. You will be confident working independently and as part of a team, comfortable managing competing priorities, and committed to safeguarding, accountability, and MAP's mission and values.
The successful candidate must be willing and able to travel regularly to Palestinian refugee camps and gatherings across Lebanon and have access to reliable transportation.
