📍 Location: Port Talbot 🕒 Full‑time & Part‑time roles available
💵 Salary: £28,501.20, Hourly rate: £14
We're excited to announce the opening of our brand new Mental health supported living service in Port Talbot, within the town centre. A modern, welcoming environment designed to support people to live full, meaningful, and independent lives. 🏡 About the Service
Our new Mental health service supports five individuals who each live in their own self-contained flat, within one building, creating a balance between independent living and support. Every person we support brings their own unique personality, strengths and abilities, and we pride ourselves on delivering personalised support that respects their individuality, promotes choice, dignity and wellbeing.
💛 What will you be doing?
As a Mental Health Support Worker, the core purpose of supporting individuals with mental health needs is to ensure they live as independently as possible, maintain daily living skills, improve their mental health wellbeing, stability and build confidence in engagement with their community and people involved in their care and support.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring mental health, noticing early signs of any relapse and offering active listening and emotional support (including coping strategies).
- Supporting people to develop, implement and reviewtheir personalised support plans and ensuring consistent record keeping.
- Assisting and prompting individuals to complete daily tasks such as shopping, household activities, meal preparation and maintaining their tenancy's.Some assisting/prompting with personal care and medication may be required.
- Supporting people to build on their independence, confidence and engagement.
- Ensuring that all Risk management and risk assessments are followed and updated, alongside individuals supported, and professionals involved in their care/support.
- Working alongside professionals involved such as mental health professionals, GP's, care managers, emergency services, Safeguarding, Occupational therapists and physiotherapists.
- Studying towards your QCF Level 2 in Health and Social Care, fully funded by Mirus.
