Job title: M&E and Field Support Officer

Location: Yendi Municipal, Northern Region of Ghana

Duration: One year renewable with a probation period of 03 months, subject to performance and
funding availability.

Responsible to: Project Officer

Overall aim:

The Assistant Monitoring, Evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL) / Technical support Officer
will support the project team to effectively implement the Integrated Forest Governance,
Restoration, and Livelihoods in Northern Ghana project by leading on data collection, analysis, and
reporting processes. The role will ensure that project activities are tracked against planned targets,
and that high-quality, timely data is generated to inform decision-making and demonstrate impact.
The role will also involve directly implementing project activities together with project team with the
Project Officer being the line manager and matrix managed by the Country Programme Manager.

Key roles/ tasks:

a.  Monitoring & Evaluation (Core Role)

a.  Develop and implement project M&E plans and frameworks
b.  Design data collection tools (questionnaires, checklists, digital tools)
c.  Perform project baseline, midline, and endline assessments
d.  Monitor and collect information on project results indicators
e.  Ensure data quality, accuracy, and timeliness are met
f.  Maintain project databases and dashboards
g.  Support preparation of donor and technical reports

b.  Data Collection & Analysis

a.  Coordinate field data collection with project team and partners
b.  Analyze quantitative and qualitative data and provide feedback
c.  Conduct  and  document  project  capitalization  (evidence,  lessons  learned,  and  case

studies)

d.  Support GIS mapping and spatial data including RHOMIS.

c.  Project Implementation Support

a.  Support in project planning and coordination of field activities
b.  Support in the implementation of project interventions
c.  Actively Participate in community engagement and stakeholder meetings
d.  Ensure activities align with project workplans and timelines

d.  Accountability and Learning (MEAL)

a.  Lead and coordinate community feedback mechanisms
b.  Clearly document best practices and success stories
c.  Lead  on  exchange  learning  events,  reviews,  and  reflection  sessions  especially  with

communities

d.  Ensure gender and inclusion considerations are integrated

 Reporting and Documentation

a.  Support in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
b.  Support and contribute to donor reports and policy briefs

c.  Maintain proper documentation eg photos, attendance, field reports etc
d.  Support to implement Tree Aid advocacy strategy.

University  degree in Rural Development, Rural sociology, Agriculture and forestry or in
related field. A master’s degree is an added advantage.
At least 3  years’ experience of M&E in development projects
Experience  designing  tools  and  strategies  for  data  collection,  data  processing,  analysis,
performance monitoring and the production of impact reports/periodic activity reports
Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Fluency in spoken and written English
Cultural competence and the ability to work well in an international environment, with people
of all cultures and outlooks.

Ability to generate and manage ODK questionnaires.
Ability to merge and analyse data from ODK forms, and present it in a variety of formats
Excellent writing skills and adaptable style. Ability to write essays, TOR, guides, summary
sheets  and  experience  capitalisation  reports  for  planning,  monitoring  and  evaluation
sound knowledge of software, computational tools, computer programming; electronic
communication systems, data processing systems and M&E
Aptitude for communication and the facilitation of training workshops, study seminars,
and other meetings
Keen ability to analyse and synthesise information Knowledge of French is advantageous
Expertise in GIS (Geographical Information Systems)
Results-driven approach, ability to take initiatives and to work well under pressure
Sociable,  polite,  good  rapport,  team  building  with  professionalism.  Ability  to  meet
deadlines, results oriented and trust worth.
Ability ride a motorbike extensively with authorised license
