Salary: £34,680 FTE
Hours of Work: Flexible, 28-35 hrs per week
This is a very exciting time to join Age UK Lancashire and to play a key role in helping our charity to grow, by developing and delivering our Marketing and Digital Marketing Strategies.
The Project in a nutshell
As the Marketing Manager you will be the driver for all marketing activity delivering a comprehensive marketing strategy that uses both traditional and digital methods (including our website) to achieve the following:
- Increase the charity’s brand recognition across Lancashire, Blackpool and North Sefton and so expanding the charity’s reach to older people, carers and professionals.
- Increase uptake of our services.
- Engage potential and existing donors with our fundraising and individual giving.
- Creating engaging content to increase uptake and promote our services and campaigns.
You would be joining a small, supportive business development team, managing an existing and well-developed marketing function.
As the Marketing Manager you will:
- Design content for and edit the organisation’s website.
- Take responsibility for planning, creating and scheduling social media content on Age UK Lancashire’s account
- Work with colleagues to produce an effective digital newsletter
- Design compelling marketing campaigns to increase take up of our services and increase donors and supporters.
- Develop our range and catalogue of stories and video content to communicate our case for support.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, including digital response rates.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Act as brand guardian for all creative assets.
- Produce a range of attractive marketing materials to support campaigns and fundraising, including our annual report and impact report.
- Mentor, guide and allocate work to our Marketing & Fundraising Administrator.
- Effectively manage the annual marketing budget.
- Ensure that our marketing is compliant with the highest professional and quality standards, best practice and all relevant codes of practice and legislation
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have over two years’ experience in a marketing role using both traditional and digital marketing approaches
- Thrive in a role where you hold primary responsibility for the marketing function
- A creative flair and a natural storyteller who is passionate about our work with older people and the impact and difference that we make
- Adept at driving engagement through social media channels including Facebook, Instagram and Linked In.
- Have great ideas for how to improve our digital and traditional communications.
- Uphold and celebrate the charity’s values.

This is a Lancashire wide role where you will spend time attending meetings and marketing opportunities and at our offices working with Age UK Lancashire colleagues.
