Key Responsibilities

• Using the DotDigital platform to create engaging email campaigns.
• Using Spektrix (our ticketing software) to generate targeted mailing and emailing lists.
• Updating the Northcott Theatre website with relevant event information, news, and promotional materials – proofreading as required.
• Gathering content and marketing materials from visiting companies and partners.
• Organising front-of-house displays and the distribution of printed materials.
• Maintaining and storing materials for the Northcott Archive.
• Keeping up to date event listings on social media and external websites.
• Tracking and reporting on marketing activity.
• Writing meeting minutes.
• Contributing to the production of show programmes and season brochures.
• Support in the delivery of the social media strategy, writing engaging content, creating graphics, following brand guidelines.
• Contributing to the planning and delivery of promotional activity/events.

General responsibilities

• Maintaining a working knowledge of the theatre’s programme.
• Contributing to the realisation of the organisation’s strategic goals.
• Attending staff meetings/training as required.
• Representing the theatre at external meetings as required.
• Deputising for the Marketing Officer as required.
• Adhering to Exeter Northcott Theatre’s values, policies and procedures.
• Maintaining confidentiality at all times.
• Maintaining a working knowledge of relevant GDPR legislation.
• Any other duties which may be reasonably requested by the Head of Marketing & Press or Directors.

Person Specification
Essential:

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Familiarity with marketing email software (e.g. DotDigital, Mailchimp).
• Confidence in using software tools such as Microsoft Office (including Excel) and website CMS platforms.
• A proactive approach and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• An interest in the arts and an enthusiasm for theatre.

Desirable:

• Experience working in a marketing or administrative role.
• Experience with social media management and content creation.
• Knowledge of design software such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
• Familiarity with ticketing or CRM software (e.g. Spektrix).
