Reports to: Director of Income Generation and Marketing

Hours: 30 hours per week

Salary: £15.46 per hour

Beaumond House

Beaumond House Hospice supports patients and their loved ones to live as fully as possible across North Nottinghamshire. Ensuring our communities receive the care and comfort they need, free of charge, when every moment matters. Our Care is provided in people's homes across our communities and at the Hospice in Newark.

We treat every person with respect. We deliver compassionate, professional care that supports physical, psychological, and spiritual needs. We look for staff and volunteers who protect dignity, safety, and confidentiality.

Beaumond House Hospice Care is a registered charity. We provide four In-patient beds, Day Therapy, and Hospice at Home Care. Hospice at Home supports people with palliative and end of life care needs, often in the last weeks and months of life. Our nurses and health care assistants provide assessment, personal care, emotional support, advice, and advance care planning in the person’s preferred place of care.

We are contactable 24 hours a day, 7 days per week, to provide a friendly ear, general information or to signpost patients, relatives and carers to appropriate resources and services.

About the Role

The Marketing and Communications Lead delivers marketing activity that increases income and service awareness, ensuring that those who need us know we are here when they need us most.

You will build and deliver campaigns to raise awareness of our care services and income generation opportunities to inspire action and engagement. Making sure our communities can connect with and support Beaumond House.

Main Duties

Marketing and Communication Campaigns – Using digital and offline channels, develop and implement marketing and communication campaigns to support our organisational strategies and objectives.

Content Creation and Delivery - Lead on and create engaging content that connects with our audiences. Primarily through channels such as (but not limited to) email, social media, website, SEO and paid media.

• Digital and Website - Take the lead on website content and management.

• Brand and Offline - Manage our brand, developing offline materials that inform and engage.

• PR - Build relationships with local PR outlets and community networks, supplying them with emotive stories about our care, our supporters, and our impact.

CRM marketing - Work closely with the DPO to lead CRM activity to grow and segment supporter data, improving engagement, retention, and income.

• Analysis and Tracking – Track and analyse activity performance, producing reports to agreed timelines that inform learnings made, future strategies and activities.

Strategic Objectives - Work to the marketing and income generation strategy set by the Director of Income Generation and Marketing.

Marketing and Communication Campaigns

• Support our care teams, support services and income generation teams build campaigns from briefing to delivery.

• Ensure marketing and communication activities are effective and delivered on time to relevant stakeholders, maintaining our marketing workflow platform.

• Identify and propose new marketing opportunities to maximise our brand awareness, engagement and income generation.

• Manage marketing campaign budgets, ensuring charitable funds are spent effectively.

• Proactively track and research new trends and channels within the hospice fundraising environment and the charity sector as a whole.

Content Creation and Delivery

• Manage and develop content assets for digital and offline channels such as paid socials, PPC, the website and offline.

Create, capture, and develop content with our service users, our staff, income generation opportunities, and supporters. Collecting consent and storing all media appropriately.

Manage online communities and content distribution platforms.

• Build email communication journeys to optimise performance and deliver personalised content.

Digital Platforms and Website

• Lead on and manage Beaumond House social media channels, engaging with community activity in line with our brand guidelines.

Plan, execute and optimise our paid advertising accounts, including Google Ads and paid social platforms, using A/B testing to ensure they are data-driven, cost-efficient, delivering ROI and income.

• Take ownership of Beaumond House website, regularly uploading new content and optimising it for SEO and accessibility.

Own website performance by managing content within the CMS, improving user journeys, implementing SEO best practices and using data and analytics to increase visibility, traffic and conversion rates.

Brand and Offline

• Be the custodian on the Beaumond House brand, ensuring all materials are made within our brand and messaging guidelines.

• Source offline marketing opportunities for campaigns, reporting on their impact.

Create engaging marketing resources, maintaining stock levels in preparation for events, community visits and wider hospice activities.

PR and Communications

• With our external PR agency lead on the creation of relevant content and stories for the press.

• Support patients and their families, taking time to capture their stories appropriately.

• Maintain common language documents for external communications.

• Support our HR team with the delivery of internal communications.

CRM marketing

Lead and deliver email and CRM activity (including building campaigns, managing audiences, segmentation and automations), ensuring data, templates and journeys are optimised for engagement and conversion, using performance and insights to drive improvements.

• Create CRM forms for campaigns and data capture.

Regularly review consent and opt-ins stored on CRM.

Analysis and Tracking

• Create and provide monthly marketing impact data in line with KPIs.

• Provide digital activity reports in line with wider campaign reporting.

Use digital analysis tools such as Google Analytics and Meta Business Suite to make recommendations on digital activity.

Other Duties:

• Provide excellent customer service to all supporters, volunteers and staff at all times.

• Fully comply with health and safety requirements, including undertaking any necessary risk assessments.

• Fully comply with national and local law, Fundraising Standards, Board Regulations and Institute of Fundraising Code of Practice.

• Manage marketing budget and monitor return on investment.

• Represent the charity publicly when required, including involvement with large events and community groups.

Skills, Experience and Attributes Required

Essential

• Experience working in a marketing and communications environment, delivering marketing and communications campaigns.

• Proven experience in the ability to work as part of a team and respect for all individuals.

• Driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle with business insurance.

Proficient working knowledge of traditional media relations with insight into how to develop and nurture mutually beneficial relationships with media outlets, social media platforms and other media partners.

• Excellent verbal and visual communications skills that build rapport, enthusiasm and trust.

• Excellent writing ability both in long and short form, online and offline.

• Proven ability to create engaging and creative content for social media, website and other online marketing channels.

• Working knowledge of website content management.

Desirable

• At least two years working in a similar role.

Experience within a hospice or healthcare sector.

Experience managing budgets.

Report and analysis skills.

• An inquisitive and curious mindset able to probe and identify areas of interest for campaigns.

• Skills in online and offline networking and an ability to join the dots.

• IT literate.

• Knowledge and awareness of development approaches.
