Are you a detail-driven finance professional who wants to make a real impact? 

We are seeking a Management Accountant to lead our accounting function, ensuring robust financial management and supporting informed decision-making across the organisation.

Reporting to the Head of Finance and managing two experienced Finance Officers, you will be responsible for producing high-quality management accounts, forecasts, and budgets while overseeing and improving financial processes and controls.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a collaborative team, working closely with senior leaders and non-finance colleagues to provide clear, insightful financial information.

Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a Management Accountant to lead our accounting function, ensuring robust financial management and supporting informed decision-making across the organisation.

Reporting to the Head of Finance and managing two experienced Finance Officers, you will be responsible for producing high-quality management accounts, forecasts, and budgets while overseeing and improving financial processes and controls.

  • Oversee the day-to-day accounting function and financial procedures
  • Prepare accurate and timely management accounts, budgets, and forecasts
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, accounting, and taxation requirements
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making
  • Line manage and support two Finance Officers
  • Maintain and improve financial systems, controls, and processes
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification or qualified by experience
  • Experience of managing financial ledgers, systems and processes
  • Proven experience preparing management accounts and budgets
  • Strong IT skills, particularly advanced Excel and handling large volumes of data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels
  • Experience using Sage or similar accounting systems
  • Experience in the charity or not-for-profit sector
  • Experience of in-house payroll
  • Demonstrable people management experience
