About the Role

We are currently looking for a maintenance manager to manage our maintenance team working in and around
our Grade II listed building, home of the Arthur Findlay College. The ideal candidate will understand
mechanical and technical systems and have excellent leadership skills. You will direct all daily maintenance
ac%vi%es including management of tasks, op%mising mechanical performance, and direc%ng the team to carry
out any necessary repairs.

Main Responsibili2es

•  Managing the Maintenance Team. Including 1:1 supervisions, performance, objec%ves, appraisals, training

and development, sickness absence, managing conduct and capability.

•  Recruitment and training of new maintenance team staff.
•  Manage rota’s and annual leave.
•  Timesheet checks and approval.
•  Develop maintenance processes and procedures and ensure compliance.
•  Fire Marshall du%es.
•  Enforce all health and safety rules and regula%ons.
•  Create a safety-conscious work environment.
•  Regular inspec%ons to iden%fy and resolves issues.

Inspect electrical and hydraulic systems of buildings to ensure func%onality.

•  Develop maintenance processes and procedures and ensure compliance.
•  Fire Marshall du%es.
•  Enforce all health and safety rules and regula%ons.
•  Create a safety-conscious work environment.
•  Regular inspec%ons to iden%fy and resolves issues.

•  Plan and oversee all repair and installa%on ac%vi%es.
•  Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary.
•  Monitor expenditure as part of budget control for the maintenance dept.
•  Manage rela%onships with contractors and service providers.
•  Keep maintenance logs and report on daily ac%vi%es.
•  Ensure health and safety policies and procedures are complied with.
•  Form effec%ve working rela%onships with colleagues and senior management team.
•  Maintain a professional and proac%ve actude towards students, tutors, visitors and colleagues.

Maintenance Manager Requirements

•  Ability to consistently maintain posi%ve rela%onships.
•  Maintenance or business qualifica%on an advantage.
•  3+ years’ experience in a maintenance role.
•  Extensive knowledge in a variety of mechanical systems.
•  Previous people management experience highly preferred.
•  Experience in supplier/contractor management.
•  Strong computer skills and an understanding of data analysis sofware.
•  Can effec%vely and efficiently handle both administra%ve and mechanical responsibili%es.
