Maintenance Assistant Allen Hall Job Description
The Role
We are looking for a Maintenance Assistant to support the day-to-day upkeep of Allen Hall Seminary, where residential students train for priesthood. Working alongside the Maintenance Supervisor, you will carry out general building maintenance, gardening, and support contractors, helping to maintain a safe, welcoming environment
Key Duties
- General repairs, basic painting and decorating
- Grounds and garden maintenance
- Health & safety checks (fire, water, lighting)
- Cleaning and upkeep of internal and external areas
- Moving furniture and assisting with deliveries
- Supporting contractors when required
About You
- Experience in a similar maintenance or facilities role
- Practical, reliable and physically fit
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Committed to the values and mission of the Diocese of Westminster
- Basic plumbing or electrical skills and experience, ideally in a faith-based or charitable setting

- Relevant experience in a similar maintenance or facilities role

Desirable:
- Basic plumbing or electrical skills/qualifications
- Experience working in accordance with health & safety legislation (e.g. working at height, hot works, confined spaces)
- Experience working in a faith-based, non-profit or charitable organisation
- A desire and commitment to work for the Catholic Church
