We are offering an exciting 4-year Apprentice Machinist opportunity for a motivated individual looking to build a long-term career in CNC machining.

During the apprenticeship, you will work closely with highly skilled engineers to learn and develop CNC machining skills and technical knowledge. Your bespoke training programme will equip you with the ability to produce precision machined components to exacting standards while also developing essential soft skills such as communication and teamwork.

On successful completion of the 48-month apprenticeship, you will have the skills, experience, and confidence required to begin work as a qualified member of the CNC machining team.

Key Accountabilities & Training Areas:

  • Operation of CNC lathes and CNC milling machines
  • Understanding how to safely and accurately machine a wide range of materials
  • Learning fundamental engineering and machining principles
  • Progressing onto multiple CNC machines using conversational programming techniques
  • Developing an understanding of cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and tolerances
  • Producing machined components to drawing specifications and quality standards
  • Carrying out basic inspection and quality checks
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised working environment
  • Communication skills

  • GCSE English Language or English Literature (Grade 4 or above) essential
  • GCSE Maths (Grade 4 or above) essential
  • Following successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will be well-placed to move into a qualified CNC Machinist role within Expert Precision Engineering, with opportunities for further progression as your experience grows
