We are inviting experienced CT radiographers to join Cobalt in delivering the NHS England National Targeted Lung Cancer Screening Programme. As a Cobalt CT radiographer, your high level of professionalism, technical skills, and strong patient care will reflect the charity’s values and ensure a safe, reliable and efficient CT service is maintained for all patients.

You will carry out day to day scanning on Cobalt mobile CT units supporting lung cancer screening, using the latest Siemens CT technology. You will ensure a safe reliable and efficient CT service is maintained and you will undertake modality specific imaging procedures efficiently and effectively for all patients; adhering to the best practice of radiographic technique. At all times you will maintain a high level of professionalism and technical standard of work, complying with relevant Codes of Practice.

This role involves maintaining strong collaborative relationships with NHS hospitals and Lung Cancer Screening (LCS) programme teams to ensure seamless service delivery in line with organisational values. Key responsibilities include liaising with multidisciplinary teams and consultant radiologists, managing daily CT scanning lists, and performing imaging procedures in accordance with established protocols, legislation, and safety regulations. The post holder must ensure patient safety and comfort by conducting consent and screening checks, providing emotional support, and maintaining accurate records through radiology information systems. Additional duties include carrying out quality assurance checks on equipment, reporting and addressing faults, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and infection control standards while maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment.

About you

About you

The role requires a qualified CT radiographer with at least two years post qualification experience, HCPC registration and a BSc in Radiography or equivalent professional qualification, with a postgraduate qualification in CT considered desirable. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong personal attributes including confidentiality, empathy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds. They must be well organised, detail-oriented, and committed to ongoing professional development, with flexibility in working hours. Essential skills include working independently, prioritising workload, performing and adapting specialist imaging procedures, analysing complex imaging, and producing accurate reports, alongside strong IT competency and physical dexterity. Candidates should have substantial CT experience, produce consistently high-quality work, engage in quality assurance, audit, and clinical governance processes, and maintain awareness of developments in imaging practice.
