Lower School Teacher (maternity cover)

ACS International Schools is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated UK based Lower School Teacher to join our vibrant community at ACS International School Cobham on a fixed-term maternity cover contract teaching in Grade 4 (age 9-10).

You will inspire and support students in our Lower School, creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive academically, socially and emotionally. Working within our international curriculum, you will deliver high-quality, student-centred learning experiences that foster curiosity, creativity and a lifelong love of learning.

About You

We’re looking for a UK based teacher who is passionate about primary education and committed to helping every student reach their potential.

You will have:

• Be based in the UK or have a UK passport
• A Bachelor’s degree (or Bachelor of Education)
• A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, teaching licence or equivalent)
• At least two years’ relevant teaching experience (preferred)
• Excellent spoken and written English
• Strong digital literacy, ideally with Apple technology
• Experience of using technology to enhance teaching and learning
• High standards of professionalism and personal conduct
• International school experience is welcomed but not essential.

As a Lower School Teacher, you will:

• Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that meet the needs of all learners
• Monitor student progress, assess learning and provide meaningful feedback
• Foster curiosity, resilience and a love of learning
• Differentiate learning to support a wide range of abilities
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop high-quality learning experiences
• Partner with Resource Teachers, EAL specialists and Learning Support colleagues to meet individual student needs
• Contribute to the school’s pastoral care programme, supporting student wellbeing and maintaining positive relationships with families
• Participate fully in the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and community events
• Undertake additional responsibilities that contribute to the smooth running of the school.
