Job Advertisement Logistics Coordinator About Us Tools With A Mission (TWAM) is a Christian charity dedicated to empowering people to create their own livelihoods. We collect unwanted tools from across the UK, refurbish them into professional trade kits, and ship approximately 25 containers - over 200 tonnes of equipment - annually to support around 500 skills training centres, churches and charities in seven countries. Job Summary We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Logistics Coordinator to manage the critical movement of goods from donation to final delivery. You will oversee our ʻlocal-to-globalʼ supply chain, ensuring that refurbished toolkits reach our partners in Africa efficiently. Responsibilities ● Annual Planning: Plan loads with country coordinators to develop shipping schedules. ● Stock Preparation: Analyse toolkit requests and stock availability according to packing requirements, and advising operations staff of final loads. ● Shipment Coordination: Manage the end-to-end logistics of 20-foot shipping containers, including ● booking freight and preparing export/import documentation. Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels at our major refurbishment centres in Ipswich and Rugby, using logistics software to ensure toolkits are ready for scheduled despatches. ● Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for freight forwarders and in-country partners, with regards to logistics. ● Performance Tracking: Maintain accurate records of tool movements. ● Cost Control & Analysis: Control shipping costs, reconcile freight contributions against costs, and report monthly on variances. Requirements ● The ability to plan, and execute according to that plan. ● Detailed orientation, and the ability to work with detail and follow through with documentation accurately. ● Experience in operations or logistics (please see below) ● Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate proficiently in written English. ● Proficiency in desktop computing, specifically Microsoft Excel and similar platforms, with the ability to learn our user-friendly software quickly. ● Organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure. ● Empathy for TWAMʼs Christian values and passion for environmental sustainability and poverty alleviation. Job Type Flexible - full-time/part-time Location Hybrid office and work from home. Main place of work will be either our Ipswich headquarters (UK) or our Rugby Refurbishment Centre (UK) Hours and Pay Competitive for the charity sector (approx. £27,000 - £30,000) Experience A background in operations, logistics, supply chain management, or international shipping.
